The pictures depict the development of Greyfrair’s school from 1985 to now and show that there has been an expansion of classrooms and the introduction of new sports and learning facilities in order to accommodate the increased number of students.
In 1985, in the south of the school, there were large playing fields, but now this area has been reduced in size to around one third of its orginal size in order to make way for a new fitness centre, and a pool which are located in the southwest of the school. In addition to this change, there used to be a large library in the west of the school, but currently this room has been reduced in size and converted into a new learning centre with a new computer room.
One further change is that the mini car park that used to be next to the library has been cleared and the classrooms next to it have been extended and relocated to the north of the sport facilities. Besides this, there has been an extension of the classroom block from 2 storeys to 3 storeys and more classrooms have also been built behind the 3-storey classroom block.
The main parking area has been reshaped and the access road to the playing field has been disappeared. In contrast, the only feature that remains unchanged is the office block.
