Detailed in the bar chart is the proportion of fuel descended from renewable energy used in the transport sector in different European Union nations as opposed to average, with data being recorded over the course of two years, commencing 2009.
What is notable from the chart is that the average of fuel consumed in the EU slightly increased. Whilst an upward progression could be seen in three countries, namely Poland, Spain and Greece, the opposite was true for Slovakia and Austria. Another striking feature is that the figure for France remained stable and Slovakia was the leading fuel-using in the transport industry during the period surveyed.
At the start of the period, over nine percent in absorbing fuel from Slovakia, which was ahead and shoulders other counterparts. This was followed by a rise to above eight percent in 2010. Having a similar pattern, there was a gradual drop in the proportion of fuel consumption by Austria, as the statistics ranged from nearly six point five percent to just over five percent in the final year.
By contrast, the value for Greece rose twofold in 2010 compared to its original figure in 2009, registering the lowest fuel consumption nation. It is visible to see that the year 2009 witnessed a significant growth in the portion of fuel consumption from Poland (5 percent) and Spain (approximately 3.1 percent), with the figures ending this period at six percent for the former and nearly five percent for the latter. Meanwhile, the data on France, from 2009 to 2010, stayed unchanged at six percent for each.
