The bar chart illustrates the eight most popular honeymoon destinations for recently married British couples in the year 2010, based on a survey of 5,000 couples.
In general, what stands out is that Thailand was the most famous destination, followed by Bali, while The Lake District was less well-known than the other places.
It is noticeable that Thailand was the most(common selection) attractive choice among recently married British couples, with 1,410 couples choosing it. In the interim, the number of British couples (selecting) preferring Bali over other places was slightly lower than those opting for Thailand, with merely 1,335 couples. There were 750 and 600 newlywed couples who chose Costa Rica and The Maldives, making them the third-most and fourth-most destinations respectively.
Out of the eight destinations, 124 couples preferred to go to The Lake District which was nowhere near as favourable as other places. The survey showed that Paris, which was almost twice as popular as The Lake District, was selected by 209 couples. Meanwhile, The Greek Island received 432 votes from 5,000 newlywed couples, three times more than the votes for The Lake District.
