The bar graph compares the eight most popular honeymoon destinations, including Europe, island resorts, and other countries, chosen by 5,000 British couples in 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that tropical and long-distance destinations dominated the survey, whereas European and domestic locations were less favoured. Thailand and Bali were the clear leaders, while the Lake District and Spain were the least chosen options.
In terms of the most preferred locations, Thailand was at the top of the list, with a total of 1,410 couples choosing this destination. Bali became the second notable location with approximately 1,380 couples selecting it for their honeymoon. Costa Rica and the Maldives come next, with roughly 750 and 600 couples respectively. The Greek Islands were not nearly as popular as Thailand, attracting only about 410 couples. On the other hand, Paris and Spain attracted significantly fewer people, with only 200 and 160 couples choosing these locations in turn. The least popular destination was the Lake District, followed by Spain, with around 120 couples.
