The table below provides information about the top honeymoon destinations for British couples in 2010. It compares eight different countries and honeymoon destinations. While traditional European honeymoon spots remained popular, they were overshadowed by the allure of Southeast Asian islands.
Thailand emerged as the top choice, attracting 1,410 couples, followed closely by Bali with 1,335. Together, these two destinations accounted for over half of the market share, highlighting a growing trend towards exotic locales. The Maldives drew 600 couples, while Costa Rica attracted 750, further contributing to this trend.
European destinations like The Greek Islands (432 couples), Paris (209 couples), and Spain (140 couples) received significantly fewer votes. The Lake District, a picturesque region in England, only attracted 124 couples. This suggests that while these destinations remain popular, they are losing ground to destinations that offer a combination of natural beauty and unique experiences.
