Christmas, also known as Noel in Vietnam, is annually celebrated with various exciting welcoming activities. For Vietnamese Christians, it is also indispensable to visit the church, have fun, give gifts, and send each other good wishes during this holiday. If you are coming to Vietnam in December and wondering how to say Merry Christmas in Vietnam, “Giang Sinh vui ve” is the most appropriate saying for you!
Lunar New Year (Tet Holiday), Reunification Day, National Day, and the like are significant holidays formally celebrated in my country. Lunar New Year, the most special celebration in Vietnamese culture, is my best-liked holiday. As a rule, every household is cleaned in preparation for the upcoming year in the hope of bringing prosperity and shooing bad luck away. Everyone has the longest period of days off for the Tet celebration with their family, friends, and their beloved people. Every Tet, Vietnamese streets and homes are adorned with flags and such “lucky flowers” as golden apricot blossom, peach blossom, and marigolds. Traditional foods, in addition, are varied and diverse to be made to offer for the ancestors and treat guests and friends. “Lucky money” encased in a red envelope is also a meaningful activity during Tet when the young give adults good blessings for the new year.
