Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Vaishali Gediya, and I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent decision to replace the local library with a supermarket. I learned about this proposed change through a local newspaper article.
The Maharaja Library, which has served our community for approximately 30 years, plays a vital role in the lives of many residents. The replacement of this library with a supermarket would have several significant disadvantages. Firstly, the library provides a tranquil space for people to spend their time productively. Many students from the nearby government college rely on the library for research and to access valuable information through books. In contrast, a supermarket would create a bustling and noisy environment that could hinder students’ academic performance. Additionally, the absence of the library would deprive the community of a vital resource for quiet study and reflection.
Moreover, this library is essential to our town, as it is the only one serving our large population. It is a gathering place for adults, youth, and children, fostering a love for reading and personal growth. Furthermore, the library houses historical texts that are crucial for understanding our country’s heritage. Importantly, it also includes a computer room that is free to use, providing internet access for those who do not have it at home, thereby bridging the digital divide.
I sincerely hope that you will reconsider this decision and recognize the immense value the library brings to our community.
Yours faithfully,
Vaishali Gediya
