The line graph compares the number of visitors to aquariums, parks, museums, and zoos on an island from 1980 to 2015.
Overall, aquariums and parks became much more popular over time, while museums lost visitors and zoos stayed almost stable. By the end of the period, parks attracted slightly more people than aquariums, whereas museums received the least.
In 1980, aquariums had the highest figure, at around 8 million, which was about twice as many as zoos and slightly higher than parks. However, parks grew more quickly than aquariums. By 2015, the number of people going to parks had risen to nearly 9.5 million, compared with about 9 million for aquariums.
By contrast, museums started with around 4 million visitors, almost the same as zoos, but their numbers dropped by half to just over 2 million in 2015. Zoos showed a different trend: although their visitors fell a little until 2000, they recovered afterward and finished with about 3.8 million, almost double the figure for museums.
