The first chart illustrates information about the total population of New Yo city. The second and third charts illustrate changes in the population of the five specific areas of the city, with information provided from 1800 to 2000.

Overall, the population of New York increased significantly. The population of Manhattan rose significantly and fell again.The percentage of total population in other districts increased significantly.

The percentage of total population increased significantly from 24% in 1800 to 46% in 1900 to 81% in 2000.In terms of population numbers, the population of New York increased significantly from 79,21. in 1800 to 3,437,202 in 1900 to 8,009,185 in 2000. The population of Manhattan rose significantly from 60,515 in 1800 to 1,850, in 1900 and decreased to 1,538,096 in 2000.The percentage of total population in Manhattan decreased from 76% in 1800 to 19% in 2000.

Regarding population numbers, the population of the other districts (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island) rose significantly from 18,701 in 1800 to 1,587,109 in 1900 to 6,471,089 in 2000. The percentage of total population increased significantly from 24% in 1800 to 46% in 1900 to 81% in 2000.
