The bar and line graph presents data about the revenue from sales of bathing suits and the average monthly temperatures in New York from January to June in 2012.
Overall, the maximum sales amount was collected during the month of April when the average temperature was around 50° F. As the temperature increased with the following months, the sales declined.
It is evident from the chart that the revenues obtained from selling bathing suits increased consistently from January to March, when the temperature was between 30°F and 40°F. During that time, revenue obtained was in the range of $10 million (January) and $15 million( March). By April, the revenue almost doubled, reaching approximately $30 million. The temperature had also increased by almost 10°F compared to March.
However, as the temperature kept increasing and reached 60 °F by May, the sales dropped dramatically to less than $10 million. Eventually, the sales reached the lowest point in June, amounting to less than $2 million, as the temperature exceeded 65°F.
