The chart demonstrates some variations about the proportion of people that were born in Australia and who were born outside Australia living in urban, rural and town from 1995 to 2010.

Overall, Cities in Australia are densely populated by people that were born in Australia as well as those who were born outside. Housing in rural areas and towns significantly declined, especially for people who were born outside Australia.

Australia saw rise in the number of people living in cities. People, generally resided in cities regardless of where they were born.

Towns became sparsely populated. In 2010 less than 20% population lived their, whether they were born in Australia or outside. A lot of people born outside Australia lived in rural ares in 1995, but this figure was less than half in 2010. This is also true for people born in Australia, although their population did not decrease to an extent of people in rural areas who were born outside Australia.
