The data displays the results of a research study of library users at a university.
Overall, the library has 5 categories of users, and full-time undergraduates are the primary users of the library; however, academic staff make the least use of library. In addition, the visitors mentioned that the thing they were very satisfied with was the helpfulness of staff and were fairly satisfied with availability of books while the availability of journals was marked as not satisfied by the majority of patrons.
Categories of library users consist of: Full-time undergraduate (44%), Full-time postgraduate (25%) and part-time postgraduate (16%). These three types of members make up the majority of overall users of the library. Moreover, distance learning students and academic staff account for the smallest proportion of library users, showing only 8% and 7% attendance at the library.
The library user satisfaction questionnaire was split into three ranking forms which were: very satisfied (VS), fairly satisfied (FS), and not satisfied (NS). The patrons were mostly very satisfied with all the services and help they received. Library opening hours were ranked as VS by 65% and FS by 35% while the help of staff was VS showing 95% and only 5% were FS. Availability of books and journals was VS with around 45-50% and FS by 35-40%, while it was NS by 10 and 20% of users. 19% were NS with reliability of Wi-Fi, FS by 33% and 48% were VS.
