Dear Sir John,

I am writing to respectfully request an extension of the notice period you have given me to vacate the apartment. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am currently unable to move out by the specified date.

The primary difficulty is that I have recently fractured my leg, which significantly limits my mobility. As a result, I am unable to lift or carry heavy furniture such as my dresser, sofa, and kitchen table, making the physical process of moving extremely challenging, if not impossible, within the current timeframe.

In addition, I have been actively searching for alternative accommodation in London and the surrounding areas, but have encountered a severe shortage of available rental properties at this time. This has made finding a suitable new home within the given notice period particularly difficult.

To resolve this issue, I propose to temporarily occupy only one room in the apartment and pay a higher rent for the extended period. This would allow me more time to recover and find appropriate housing, while also ensuring that you do not incur any financial loss.
