Dear Sir Lawrence,
I’m Matthew Woods, student at the second year of classics at your college. I’m writing to you to ask you if I could have a week off during this course because of an important family issue.
In this second year of college I’m attending the course of Ancient Greek Civilization held by professor Aldo Tagliboi. In order to pass the year is mandatory to attend all his lesson: you can can miss only two times. Since his lectures are four times a week, if I’ll miss one entire week I would lose the opportunity to achieve the exam’s evaluation.
Whereas, I really need to reach my family in Russia for my sister’s marriage, and the travel will take 3 full days. I can’t miss this event as it is truly important for me to be there with my sister. At the same time don’t want to fail my college year, because my family could not afford to pay the fees for another year.
For this reason I’m writing to you to ask to professor Tagliaboi if he could do an exception with me.
Thank you in advance for your compehension,
Yours faithfully,
Matthew Woods
