Dear Jenny,

I hope you’re well and everything goes smoothly in your new job. I’m writing about my planned visit to Cambridge and want to ask your advice on a couple of things.

I’m going to attend a writing seminar event with a famous novelty writer. I’m so excited and I’m looking forward to visiting Cambridge too. You have made me want to go there since the time you were studying Sociology at university in the city.

Fortunately, I could book a full package including accommodation and catering for a reasonable price at the Bedford youth hostel in the city center. Its location is quite convenient because it is situated just a stone’s throw away from the seminar location.

What I want you to ask was where you recommend going for some evening entertainment. Pubs in the city centre with live music would be perfect. I’ll be on the course with a few mates from work and we’d love to hear some local bands.

If you point us to a cheap place to eat, that would be great too. Many thanks.
