Dear Rose,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to invite you to a family gathering that will take place on September 2, 2026. The reason for this celebration is that I will be returning to the country in the last week of August, and I want to surprise my family with a special get-together.
It has been three years since I relocated to Canada, and I haven’t had the chance to visit home since then. I told my family I would be coming back this year, but I didn’t mention the exact month. Since it has been so long since we all saw each other, I want this to be a wonderful surprise for them.
I have already made some arrangements for the celebration. The party will be held at our family house in Abeokuta. I’ve hired an event planner to handle the details. The garden will be decorated with balloons and flowers, and we’ll have a family dinner with a variety of dishes. Soft music will play in the background to keep the atmosphere lively, and we’ll have plenty of games, like Charades and Whot.
It would mean a lot to me if you could attend, because I’d like you to oversee the planning while I’m away. It would be so nice to see you and your family after all these years – I truly miss you, and this would be a perfect chance for us to reconnect and catch up on life and work. I’m sure it will be a memorable occasion for everyone.
Please let me know if you’re able to join me for this special event.
Warm regards,
Busola
