Things to include: - Facts. You need to be concise but explain what happened. - Polite. No one responds to insults. - Outline what you wish from this. What do you want to happen? - Firmness. You want to be taken seriously.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to complain about your restaurant “Meat and Fish” where my friends and I had dinner last evening. We have not seen each other for a long time and we wanted to spend a nice time during the dinner. Unfortunately, our meeting was spoiled by several factors.

Firstly, our server was slow and not very polite. They could not bring our order for more than an hour and they completely forgot about one dish. Secondly, my seafood pasta was too overcooked and very salty. Also, my friend’s beef steak was very cruel although she ordered medium well.

I understand that there was a full-landing in your restaurant that day and perhaps, for this reason the staff could not cope. My friends and I very love this place and visit it sometimes for several years.

I would like you to look into this situation and have a conversation with the staff. I believe that right decision would be to refund us the money for two dishes such as seafood pasta and beef steak because we did not even eat them.
