Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing to formally submit my resignation from my current part-time position, as I have recently completed my master’s degree and intend to embark on a new career path.

Although I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, I will not be applying for a full-time role within the company. In order to broaden my horizons and gain international exposure, I have planned to relocate to the United States for employment. Additionally, after living apart from my fiancé for over a year while based in Taiwan, we intend to reunite and get married there. In the long run, I also hope to pursue a doctoral degree in pharmacy, and studying in the US provides the ideal academic environment for this goal.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to work alongside such supportive colleagues. Whenever I encountered difficulties operating the laboratory equipment, the team was always enthusiastic and patient in guiding me. Furthermore, the flexible working hours enabled me to maintain an ideal balance between my academic commitments and work responsibilities.

Given that my visa arrangements require me to depart next month, my final day of work will be exactly one month from today. I hope this provides sufficient time to arrange a smooth handover, and I greatly appreciate your understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Chenyu
