Dear John,

Hope you are doing well, I am writing to congratulate for the purchase of your new apartment and also apologize for my promise that i could not able to assist you in moving.

As you already know that i have recently joined another organisation for which I was planning since long time. Moreover, i had booked a ticket to visit your place but suddenly a team meeting was conducted and I was invited to attend and as a new employee i had to join with them and after leaving from my office, I tried to catch my train and unfortunately I could not arrived on time and missed it.

I hope you would understand my situation and confirm to me so i will manage to come on 20 Feb and we will make the new moving arrangements together.
