I hope this letter finds tou in good health and high spirits. Today, I am writing this to inform you sbout my recent concern which is using mobile phones during classes.
As you know, our high school has no limitations on using smartphones while students are having lecture. Thus, the students usually do not need to ask for teachers’ permission before using their mobile devices. At first, this behavior provides us a convenient environment to learn where we can search for all the necessary information and theories. However, in contrast to this phenomenon, I realized that the quality of academic performance in our school recently has declined significantly, even in gifted classes. Some students now take advantage of freely using phones during their school hours to do oyher activities such as playing online games instead of studying like we often said. This will directly lead to low quality studying time at school when most students do not allocate enough time and efforts for gaining new knowledge. As a result, they will soon struggle with the school exams and short tests as well.
From my own observation, I suggest that our school policies should add limitations for students about phone use in classes. Teacher could prohibit or allow students to use their mobile phones. In the context of entertainment at school, we could let the pupils to use thei phones in the break-time and after school hours
