The line graph illustrates the consumption of margarine, butter, low fat and reduced spreads between 1981 and 2007 measured in grams. Overall, most of them fell sharply, but the other one increased.
There was a dramatic drop in the consumption of butter and margarine. The consumption of butter was 140 grams in 1981, which was 50 grams higher than the margarine consumption. 1986 saw the pick of the butter consumption and it achieved 160 grams. After a dramatic rise, the butter consumption plunged to 50 grams during a period of 21 years. Unlike butter, margarine had fluctuated for 10 years. The consumption of margarine leveled off between 1991 and 1996. In result, this one plunged to 40 grams, that is less than butter one.
In contrast, the low fat and reduced spreads consumption had started in 1996 and had a dramatic rise from 1996 to 2001. In 2007 the consumption of low fat and reduced spreads had the highest result comparing these consumption
