The bar chart below compares the percentages of the total global population in India, China, the USA, and Japan during a period of 52 years starting from 1950, as well as the forecast for 2050.
It is clear that China and India are the world’s leading countries in terms of percentage of the worldwide population, respectively. By contrast, the USA and Japan make up the lesser percentages of the global population, according to the bar chart.
In 1950, China made up the highest percentage of the world’s population, with a percentage of 23; this percentage continues to fall by a significant amount, and it is expected to hit a low of 15 in 2050. On the other hand, India is the second leading country, with a percentage of 15 in 1950, which is then followed by a rise up to 17 percent; this rise is expected to continue in 2050.
The other two countries make up the lesser percentages of the total world population. During 1950 and 2002, both countries followed a declining trend. The USA is expected to maintain the same percentage in 2050, while Japan’s percentage is expected to drop to a low of 2 percent.
