The bar chart illustrates how often the US population visited fast food restaurants from 2003 to 2013. The data was categorized into six groups: every day, several times a week, once a week, once or twice a month, a few times a year, and never.
Overall, the ratio of people eating at fast food restaurants once or twice a month was the highest trend, followed by once a week in the second place. However, the number of people who never ate or went daily to such outlets was the lowest trend among the others.
In 2003, once a week was the upward frequency of individuals visiting fast food outlets by approximately 31%. Similar to the once or twice a month category, which accounted for about 30%, respectively. Furthermore, these two categories show different trends over the ten year period. Once a week groups considerably dropped to almost 25%, in contrast with once or twice a month groups which significantly rose around 35%.
On the other hand, the several times a week category represents fluctuating trends over the years, from about 18% to 16% in 2003 and 2013. At the same time, a few times a year groups slightly went up from 13% to 15%. Moreover, in comparison between every day and never categories constantly fall across the years, both below 5%.
