The given bar chart compares university subjects chosen by male and female students in 2005.
Overall, male students tended to prefer Sciences, Mathematics, Literature and law faculties , while female enrolments dominated in courses as Social Sciences, Language, The Arts. However, Humanities is only one area with almost equal male and female undergraduates.
In Sosial Sciences female students was the largest proportion across the all enrolments, reached approximately 25 thousands compared with around 15 000 males. The same tendency can be seen in Language field about 17 000 women and uncompared 3 or 4 thousands men. The Arts had similar situation as The Language 9000 female and a tiny proportion of male around 4000.
In contrast, the number of male students in Science was significantly higher, at about 23 thousand, whereas the female figure remained lower. Mathematics also attracted more men than women, although the gap was smaller than in Science.
