Secondly, turning to emigrants, the main reason for leaving the UK was definite job, making up 29% of the total. The next largest category was looking for work at 22%, which was noticeably higher than immigration figures. Other motivation, such as accompany and other reasons were relatively smaller, with only 4% and 13% respectively. Overall, emigration patterns differed from immigration, particularly in terms of no reason stated where the percentage was at same.
