The diagram depicts the steps involved in growing pineapples and converting them into various products, including juice, canned food, and export.
Overall, the process can be divided into two main stages, starting with cultivating pineapples and ending with processing them into the final products.
In the first stage, pineapples are cultivated under rather hot weather with temperatures ranging from 23-30 Celcius degrees in a field 26 centimeters long. After 7 months of growth, the pineapple plants are sprayed with ethylene to protect them from dangerous insects, then they continue growing for five months before harvesting when they produce fruits with a standard length of 30cm and 2 kg in weight.
In the following stage, the process involves preparing harvested pineapples into products. Initially, they are washed and categorized based on their size. With the smallest pineapples, they are peeled, and their tops are removed before feeding into an extractor to produce juice. Regarding the medium-sized pineapples, they also undergo the knife-processing process, after that, they are canned and turned into the final food products. As for the largest ones, they are waxed by a specific liquid before being stored in boxes serving for exportation on merchandise ships.
