The table illustrates changes in the proportion of households who selected electronic items in New Zealand between 2002 and 2020.
In general, it is noticeable that different trends were observed in all the given categories. While washing machine and color TVs recorded the highest percentage of households electronic goods among all the given groups for the whole year, the opposite was true for digital camera in the given nation.
At the beginning of the period, washing machine and color TVs reached 97% and 95% the highest proportion of households choose electronic items. In the following years, these steadilly rose to 98% and 99% by the end of the year, while color TVs reached a peak level of households goods among all the given categories in New Zealand. The second most popular group, ‘video recorder’ recorded three-quarters in 2002, which after it gradually declined to 60% in the year 2020.
In 2002, computer and dishwasher showed an average proprotion of households electronic items, at half and 45%. Both of them signifcantly grew, starting at 55% and ending at 78% in the period 2020. The lowest figure of households choose electronic items, cell phone and digital camera recorded 2% and 20% in 2002. Which after it dramatically increased to 40% and 80% in New Zealand, cell phone changed to the second most popular group by the end of the period. By contrast, digital camere remained the lowest level of households electronic items among all the given trends for the whole period.
