overall, the trend shows that the most preferred leisure activities for both men and women are TV, radio, and video, with men consuming more fun time than women. However, women are spending more time doing the housework than men, especially in the field of cooking and washing, women ratio is 3 times higher than men.
Regarding leisure activities, the most popular entertainment activities among the three other categories are TV, radio, and video, men scored higher average time of 137 minutes daily on enjoying TV, radio, or video, while women spent 118 minutes only. the second popular activity is reading books with 18 minutes per day consumed by men to 19 minutes daily time consumption for women. Meanwhile, sports exercises were the least popular activity, however, men consumed more average time playing exercises with a daily average of 15 minutes while women’s average was 11 minutes daily.
Regarding household duties, cooking and washing were the highest activities in terms of time consumption, with women spending around 75 minutes per day, while men spent nearly 30 minutes daily, which makes women spend around 3 times more than men in this category. Shopping came next with a daily average of almost 25 minutes for men and approximately 35 minutes for women, Again, women were recorded to spend more time than men going shopping. Repairing was the third activity for men and the fourth for women, as men spent just less than 20 minutes on an average daily basis, while women spent nearly 10 minutes. Clothing washing and ironing took the last rank among men and the third rank among women, with men spending only 10% and women spending around 30 minutes per day on average.
