As society develops rapidly, many large factories are being announced for construction in various areas, possibly including ours. This can be seen as either a hopeful sign of economic growth or a negative impact on nature and local residents. This essay will elaborate on both arguments, and I will provide my own perspective, which is in favor of the factory being built near my home.
On one hand, such factories can offer numerous advantages. First and foremost, the local community will gain more employment opportunities, increasing the employment rate in the area and facilitating the growth of personal income and the local economy. Furthermore, the budget for surrounding education, security, and healthcare will be significantly improved. Consequently, this can attract more investors and individuals from other places to come and contribute to development. In other words, the standard of living in the locality will skyrocket if industrial buildings are established. The benefits of these factories will be more effective in the long run.
On the other hand, there are also notable disadvantages. Numerous drawbacks can be identified. Firstly, factories can cause severe pollution, including contaminated air and water, as well as annoying noise. The construction process itself produces a lot of smoke and waste, and it often necessitates clearing large areas of trees and plants to make room for development. Secondly, these firms may take over land used for agriculture or housing, leading to displacement and land use conflicts. For example, in China, many landlords have refused to relocate, which has hindered the government’s ability to proceed with construction.
In summary, despite the many drawbacks, such as pollution and disruption, building factories in the community provides significant financial and economic advantages. Therefore, I support the establishment of the industrial company near my residence.
