Animal rights is the most controversial issue in our modern life. A wise man once said: “Animals should have the same rights as humans and be equal.” There’s no doubt that animal rights is one of the main vital topics nowadays. Humans tend to focus on animal rights in our society worldwide. While some people believe that animals should be treated the same way humans are and have similar rights, others think that it is more important to use them as we desire for food and medical research.
Undeniably, there are some endangered species of animals that are vulnerable for extinction. For instance, species of rhinos, gorillas and whales are facing a high risk of vanishing. Moreover, animals are an essential part of the ecosystem through their roles as predators and preys, maintaining a healthy world. Furthermore, they are pure and innocent souls while having emotions just like human beings. Additionally, any change in animal life cycle will cause a defect in the ecosystem, affecting human’s lives.
On the other hand, the main aspect associated with animals is food chains of humans as humans depend on animals to have a healthy eating habits. Human bodies need protein, calcium and vitamins that are found in animals. Another facet of animals need is medical research and testing to be able to treat diseases. According to an article, experimenting on animals is necessary to save human lives and discover treatments.
In conclusion to the arguments mentioned above, I believe that animals should have equal rights as humans, except for some cases. From my perspective, I think scientists should use animals for medical research, not cosmetics usage, as they’re now used only in vital cases.
