Issues related to tourism are frequently discussed these days. It is undeniable that tourism generates a significant portion of national income for many incomes for many countries. The desirable and undesirable impacts of this issues will be explained in this essay. Personally, despite the fact that this trend has some drawbacks, I am convinced that there are a greater number of benefits.
On the one side of the argument, there are various drawbacks associated with tourism. One significant disadvantage is that destruction of popular tourist destinations by large number of tourists. Ancient buildings, temples and monuments struggle to cope with a various among of visitor’s traffic get damaged and can clause environmental problems. For instance, when places of interest are overcrowded, natural resources often become overexposed. An addition demerit is that local people can experience loss of privacy. Having a various tourism has resulted in the construction of pubs and bars in the local area that cause to be the voice pollution. Such as, local people in Phuket are experiencing problems with sleeping due to there are a lot of pubs and bars that open in the night.
On the other hand, I would argue that these advantages are outweighed by the desirable impacts. One of the obvious advantages of this is that can boost in country’s economy due to increased spending. This means if most of tourists have to visit, they will be more spending to stimulate economy. Another positive aspect is that new jobs opening for local people. This means if country have a plenty traveler, there will have more money to employ. Which results to the vacancy rate have more decrease.
All things considered, I would like to reiterate that tourism has certain disadvantages like destructive effects and growth of crime rate, it has an extremely positive impact on country’s economy and provides a large number of new jobs for the local people.
