A rising number of obese children, who many consider overweight, is a significant health concern. I assert that there are several factors contributing to this problem including excessive exposure of food advertising and the lack of government’s law on the regulation of child’s meal ingredient. Nevertheless, some strategies such as reducing food advertising to children and supporting government’s enforcement on children’s meal could solve this problem.
Food advertisements aimed at children along with inadequate government’s enforcement on children’s meal ingredient could be major reasons why this phenomenon happen. Children who are inclined to get attracted to engaging advertisements, will likely to purchase such product with low-quality ingredients. In some cases, government also overlooks this situation. As a result, excessive amount of unhealthy food offered by food advertising will lead to several health concerns including overweight and obesity in young people.
Nevertheless, some actions could tackle this issue. First and foremost, parents could reduce exposure of food advertising to their children. With this strategy, the excessive intake of unhealthy food showcasing by food advertisement could be prevented. Additionally, government’s law could also mitigate this problem by regulating specific amount of ingredient in children’s meal. For instance, by reducing sugar intake in one pack of children’s food, enhanced health quality of children could be attained.
In conclusion, while significant concerns regarding to children’s obesity is increasing, several strategies to solve this problem could be implemented. Parents’ action on reducing exposure to children’s meal advertisement along with government’s law on children’s meal could be a critical approach to tackle this problem.
