Nowadays, water shortages have become a significant issue in many countries. There are several reasons why this situation has developed. This essay will discuss the main causes of this problem and suggest some possible solutions.
One of the primary causes of this issue is that many people use water unwisely. This is because people do not realize how important water is in our lives. For instance, they leave the tap running even when they are not using it, especially when they are washing or brushing their teeth. And individuals use too many precious water resources for unnecessary things like washing cars and cleaning the house, which affects our lives. Another contributing factor is climate change, in recent years our planet has become hotter. It’s warmer now even in winter and there’s much less precipitation than the days before. On the other words we can say that our nature is dying, the developing of desertifaction, the increasing numbers of cars and factories and the less raining and snowing cause such problems with our important for life resources.
However, several effective measures can be taken to tackle this issue. Firstly, governments should impose higher taxes on clean water. This would help to reduce the use of water, and people would start to use it more mindfully. And also, in schools, children must be taught about how important water is and ways to save it. As a result, the younger generation will use water more carefully. Furthermore, we should change our lifestyle. Change gasoline-powered cars to electric cars and reduce the number of factories which badly affect on our climate.
In conclusion, although water shortages cause a number of serious problems, they can be effectively addressed. Higher taxes from the government and teaching children about the importance of water and ways to save it can significantly reduce the negative effects of this issue.
