It is increasingly common for schools that wearing a school uniform should be compulsory for their students. I completely agree with this given idea because of a sense of equality, savings and a sense of community.
Firstly, proponents of required school uniforms believe that it brings a sense of equality and reduces the differences and gaps among students in the same class. This is because students’ parents have a variety in their incomes. Relying on that, people focus on their instructional environment, where students may be judged based on their ability instead of their clothes. For example, nowadays, it is common to find that many students try their best so that they can achieve high results and have a scholarship because their parents may not afford the tuition fee. This creates a positive environment for learning.
Secondly, students can save time and money to choose their clothes everyday. In today’s modern life, people often have to face peer pressure from their classmates because of their clothing style. This leads to a tendency for desire to dress up. Children will force their parents to buy expensive clothes for them, leading to spending too much money. Instead of that, when students wear the same uniform everyday, their parents are saying on their regular clothes, which are usually much more expensive than their uniforms. This helps them reduce the emphasis on fashion and concentrate on their studies.
Finally, uniforms give a sense of belonging to a community. Therefore, students can identify themselves to be a part of a school. This shared identity fosters pride in the school and a sense of responsibility. Students are likely to feel motivated to represent their school positively when they are wearing their school uniforms.
In conclusion, I argue that wearing a uniform during school hours is important for children. It helps them to maintain high ethical value and professionalism.
