Nowadays, obesity is recognized as a global problem that impacts people’s ability to lead healthy lives in many different regions of the world. I think this is mainly because of sedentary lifestyle and overconsumption of fast food, but there are some possible solutions.
People are probably less active than they were in the past, which is one of the primary reasons of the issue. The number of hours that individuals are active has been shown to sharply decline in the light of technological advancement. For instance, a lot of housewives now do their laundry in washing machines rather than by hand. What the government should do is to organize marathons or open new fitness centres in order to encourage citizens to engage in physical activity, assisting them avoid leading inactive lives.
Unhealthy and unbalanced diets appear to be a common problem among people. As opposed to/Instead of prepared meals, people are ordering takeout more frequently. As an illustration, consider the threefold growth in the past ten years in the consumption of junk food items such as pizza and burgers. The government is encouraging individuals to eat at home rather than dining out by raising taxes on such kind of food. People may stay in shape and avoid gaining extra weight by consuming foods that are high in vitamins and nutrient.
If people do not adopt a healthy lifestyle and improve their physical activity, the number of overweight individuals will rise. It is my belief that the government takes primary responsibility for solving this issue.
