It is a widely held notion that the inclusion of art and music classes in the school curriculum is unnecessary since they may not have direct relevance to our lives. However, I firmly contend that these classes should be mandatory as they play a crucial role in the development of our emotions and in expanding our societal and cultural awareness.
Primarily, art and music education should be an integral part of the school syllabus, particularly from the elementary level, despite the disinterest expressed by some individuals. This is because children’s emotional faculties are still in the process of development and it is imperative to expose them to various creative stimuli to facilitate this development. For instance, infants are not inherently equipped with the skills needed to navigate societal norms and expectations, thus necessitating their enrollment in educational institutions to acquire the essential knowledge and competencies. Devoid of exposure to art and music, their emotional maturity may lag behind their chronological age upon completing their schooling. Consequently, educational authorities should retain these creative classes as obligatory components of the curriculum.
On top of that, knowing a lot of knowledge about art and music enhances our communication skills during schooling and after graduation. These skills, how to draw paintings and listening to classical music, give people a better socialized life with other people. For example, many adults don’t know how to play any instrument. That is such an important habit to join in a community. They all just spend their time studying their majors and earning money. It could cause serious problems for them later, like lack of social skills and not knowing how to spend time when they stay at home with others. This illustrates that art and music are significant factors in our lives.
To sum up, art and music help our children to express their emotions as they built, and encourage adults to communicate with people easily as society member. I believe that all of the entertainment classes are essential at school, at least.
