Artist should be supported for their arts forms because of two main reasons firstly, it preserves the countries cultural heritage and secondly, there are economic benefits. Art forms like music, painting, and sculpting helps the future generations understand about their cultural history. For example, there are 300 forts in our country and each and every fort has a unique story behind it. These forts are a work of art and sculptures can depict a lot of values about our ancestors. The government should help artists preserve our historical monuments. Moreover, there are also many financial benefits such as some music artists have massive number of followers and people from all around the world gather to watch them performing which enhances the tourism of the country. For example, renowned music artists such as Diljit Dosanjh, AP Dhillon, etc perform at stadiums where people from all over the world gather and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
On the contrary, government should keep in mind that other centres like the healthcare and education need more funding compared to supporting artists. Sectors such as medical, education, and infrastructure need more funding as it contributes massively in the development of a country. There are a lot of places where no proper roads, schools, and toilets are built and government should ensure that these basic amenities should be provided to each and every citizen of the country. For example, funds should be allotted to demolish slum areas and built new houses for them so that there’s development in that particular area.
In conclusion, although entertainment is necessary, development of the country should be prioritised more.
