Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 5+: As countries develop, more and more people buy and use their cars. Do you think the advantages of this trend for individuals outweigh its disadvantages for environment?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, greenhouse gases affect our environment negatively and cause climate change in the global level. These emissions are mostly released from the non-renewable vehicles such as cars which are now becoming more common for people to buy and use. From my point of view, this situation bring out many long-term consequences that might not be ignored because of its advantages.

On the one hand, cars bring many profits to users. Firstly, it is convenient and safe. In the previous decade, car was created and have been developing in many aspects to satisfy user’s requirements. For example, digital map, control panel and radio have been added to car for handlers to facilitate theirs drive. It is also safe for users because they are surrounded by a designed alloy and seats made to ensure the safety of users. In addition, cars are now easy to manufacture as the automatic processes have been created.

On the other hand, using cars causes many effects on the environment. Initially, cars emit many greenhouse gases including methane, carbon dioxide,…. They are presumed to be the main cause of global warming which is needed to be solved to protect the habitat of any species living on the Earth. For instance, global warming makes ice block in arctic and antarctic melted, leading to the rising of the sea level, which seems to eliminate the habitat of oceans and marine life. Moreover, extreme weathers such as severe storms, hurricanes and floods damaging infrastructure and life.

To sum up, using cars has its advantages but we also need to consider the damage it causes to the Earth.
