Despite the many advantages of the internet, some individuals believe that it causes many problems in society at the same time. I strongly agree with this statement, because there are no rules for internet users, and it can lead to many crimes.
Firstly, the internet is a free space where everybody in all over the world, with any background and opinion can share whatever they want, while the shared content may not be suitable for everyone. For instance, nowadays all children have access to the internet easily and they can face anything such as pornographic content and violent content. Although, many parents are worried about their children, they cannot control the new generation, because they are unbelievably smart. Even though there are many advantages of access to the internet, no limitations and no supervision can have many consequences.
Secondly, the internet has provided a platform for fraudsters that they can easily misuse people’s trust. In other words, many people, especially after COVID pandemie, prefer to buy goods through the internet. However, many of them experience a scam when purchasing online. For example, I personally got fraud as I made an online purchase which were a perfume, but it never arrived. These problems are not only about financial issues, but also about the misuse of personal information. Although, social media has made life more convenient, online crimes have increased in recent years.
In conclusion, in spite of many benefits of using the internet, I totally believe that it can cause harm to the society, because there are no bandries, so we should be wise and aware of using it.
