Nowadays, it is evident that many children spend an increasing amount of time away from their parents since their mothers and fathers need to make a living. While this can cause a significant impact on their well-being, there is a solution for this problem which I am going to elaborate on with possible reasons.
To begin with, these kids who are separated from their parents for a long time can be affected mentally in a negative way. To be specific, children who lack attention and interaction from their parents might feel anxiety, worry and stress making them more vulnerable to serious issues such as depression or autism. In fact, recent research found that individuals with mental illness tend to be neglected, which can be linked to a lack of parental support during their childhood. Although people usually keep their babies away from harmful influences of the outside world, they do not know that indifference and lack of guidance inside the family are hidden risks that can worsen a child’s psychological health.
However, there are some solutions for this issue. One of the most effective ways to keep your children happy and safe is to encourage them to join in extracurricular activities. Instead of spending the rest of their day waiting for parents to come home, learning something beneficial with friends is likely to help youngsters reduce their feeling of loneliness. For instance, participating in sports teams provides children with opportunities to develop interests, enhance their flexibility, strength and confidence. By engaging in similar activities, parents can help their children build friendships and improve their emotional well-being.
In conclusion, it is clear that separating children from their parents for extended periods is not beneficial for their emotional development. On the other hand, it can be dealt with by encouraging them to participate in such activities with their friends.
