In this day and age, climate change has a worldwide adverse effect, and it poses a real danger that threatens not only our lives but also the quality of life of future generations. There seem to be three main reasons posing this issue, and there are some possible solutions to address this problem.
To begin with, one of the major causes of this phenomenon is rooted in the greenhouse effect. Atmospheric warming, in fact, occurs because the atmosphere continues to trap heat radiated from Earth between Earth and space. Also, human activity is one of the factors causing climate change. People produce greenhouse gases such as chlorofluorocarbons in many different ways. For example, they burn fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation. The means of transportation like cars, trucks, ships, trains, and planes emit the largest percentage of carbon dioxide that is speeding up global warming. Additionally, deforestation, the widespread clearing of forests for agriculture or urbanization, is a significant driver of climate change. When trees are cut down or burned, the stored carbon is released into the atmosphere.
However, there are some effective methods that could be applied by all people around the world. First and foremost, we need to keep fossil fuels in the ground and invest in renewable energy. These include solar, wind, wave, tidal, and geothermal power. So, all countries need to move their economies away from fossil fuels as soon as possible, as it worsens the climate change. Secondly, it is essential to rethink our transport methods from the design stage towards eco-friendly transportation. Cutting down on flights, moving closer to work, promoting public transportation, carpooling, switching to walking or cycling if needed, can definitely help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and thus, fight global warming. Finally, forests are crucial in the fight against climate change, and protecting them is an important solution. Governments can stop companies destroying forests to make way for animal farming, soil, or palm oil plantations by making better laws and enforcing regulations.
In conclusion, climate change is a situation that is negatively impacting nations around the globe. There are certain causes of climate change and numerous methods that can be applied to reduce the danger at least a little.
