Colour has been playing an essential role in business when entrepreneurs want to attract the intention of buyers. According to my perspective, it is unarguable that people in general, as a matter of course, pay attention to colour when they decide to buy products.
There are three main reasons why people take a deeper look towards colour. First and foremost is colour relates to their personal appearance. For example, people with darker skin generally prefer a dark coloured t-shirt, in order to have a better appearance . Secondly, psychological reasons, since some colours have effects on confidence. Lastly, social impressions, particularly for a big event. In this kind of situation, those who play a big role tend to be very careful in choosing their outfit.
Supporting the business, many shops and retailers deploy the things they have in designing to attract as many consumers as possible. For instance, coffee shops tend to arrange their place to look more relaxing with warmer lights. Another striking example is restaurants in China decorate the wall in a red colour as they believe that the colour highly likely will influence the appetite of their consumers.
Despite those facts, other considerations when colour is not that crucial when people consider the functionality, the quality and the price. For example when they purchase a knife, the most important one is how sharp it is, how strong it is and how much it is.
To conclude, in majority, when people want to buy a product, colour is one the top considerations in deciding and it becomes less important when people merely depend on the utility, the quality and the cost.
