Nowadays, one of the most escalating global concerns is deforestation, affecting individuals’ daily life. The dominant factors of this alarming trend are urbanization and agricultural expansion. The likely outcomes of this problem have a negative impact on the environment and society.
This global issue is primarily driven by several causes, such as rapid urbanization, the growing demand for more agricultural land. First and foremost, due to the increasing number of people in the world, local governments in developing countries cut down forests in order to create enough space for agriculture, which plays an essential role in addressing food problems. For instance, in Congo local government are more likely to see deforestation as the best solution to provide more areas for people to engage in this activity. Secondly, forests are cleared to build new apartments and houses for the local community. This, in turn, while creating new areas for people, leads to the destruction of vast stretches of vital woodland.
The probable effects of this issue are both environmental and socioeconomic. Above all, it has some serious ramifications, such as loss of biodiversity. Forests are home to a wide range of animals and plants, many of them are endangered and found in many regions. Due to deforestation the habitats of these species vanish, which may contribute to becoming extinct. Furthermore, woods have a fundamental role in mitigating climate change. It is a fact that trees have the power to absorb CO2 and produce oxygen. Without this natural procedure the amount of carbon rises, resulting in higher temperature.
To sum up, deforestation has significantly increased in today’s fast-evolving world. The chief causes of this problem are growing migration from rural areas to cities and need for more areas that suitable for agriculture. The risks associated with this issue, such as loss of biodiversity and climate change have a detrimental impact on the Earth
