The face is that supermarkets have been expanding over time, not only in megacities but also in small town. So it is considered a threat of small shop and local communities. For my standpoint, I fully concur in this essay.
Apparently, the supermarkets help us saves a lot of time because thay have a variety of goods such as household items nà electronics, groceries, food, clothes, etc. For example, If you want to buy soap, the shopkeeper in a retail store will give you 1 or 2 options, whereas, in a supermarkets, you will have many choices from different brands of soap. Moreover, visiting too many local shop can be time-consuming and frustrating.
Another argument is that supermarkets run various promotional schemes from time to time in the form of discount, cash back,… The key benefit of this strategy is to attract consumers in a way that helps establish a stable customers for the business. For instance, in Australia, where many items are offered at half price on every Wednesday. As a result, consumers can purchase items at significantly reduced prices compared to the original price.
To sum up, With the convenience of time and attractive promotions, supermarkets have successfully posed at threat to local shops
