With regard to the vital roles of doctors, nurses, and teachers in community, the question of whether their compensation ought to be higher than that of entertainment and sports celebrities has gained traction. While it is understandable that paying highly for prominent figures in entertainment and sports is perceived as motivating them to better perform and enhancing the community’s reputation and standing, I believe that healthcare and education workers should be compensated more fairly for their critical roles in one’s life and society as whole.
Proponents of investing heavily in the performance of entertainment and athletic celebrities put forth various justifications to support their stance. When entertainment and athletic figures receive a large amount of compensation beyond their own earnings and rewards at tournaments, they could be motivated to better perform and attain massive accomplishments in their chosen fields, thereby promoting their countries on a global stage and making them more recognizable internationally. This emphasis on celebrities can also make favorable impact on younger generations by inspiring them to try their best and gain monumental achievements as those of a select few high achievers. Take my home country of Uzbekistan where amusement and athletic personalities are highly valued, and they receive ample support to excel in both sports and entertainment contexts.
In spite of these arguments in favor of emphasizing entertainment actions and athletic achievements, in my view, healthcare and education professionals deserve fair compensation, just as much as athletes and entertainers. As healthcare and education are considered essential services, they are responsible for shaping healthy future generations, preparing students for successful lives, and building a better society. On top of that, these professions require extensive training, high levels of skill, and significant commitment so that employees often feel compelled to work long hours, and deal with stressful situations, thus making them more valuable and respectable among other kinds of professions.
In conclusion, even though paying top dollar for entertainment and sports stars is necessary to compete on the international stage, I contend that it is crucial to recognize the importance of healthcare and education workers in building a thriving community by offering them appropriate compensation. Only by empowering them financially to excel can we make a real progress in building a healthy and wise community
