Nowadays, driving a car is a valuable skill, so there is an opinion that children should learn this skill at school. While I agree to some extent, there may be some problems applying this idea to real life.
Driving a car is a very useful skill for everyone because in our modern world, we should be fast and travelling around on foot is time-consuming. Thus, children should learn how to drive to make their life easier in the long run. Also, many youngsters after graduation are learning this skill, in this case, they are paying additional fee for driving courses. Moreover, to get a driving certificate, they should pass an exam. To avoid these obstacles, learning how to drive can be beneficial for teenagers.
On the other hand, driving is a challenging activity for school-age children. There are many traffic accidents every day all over the world. If a teenager is driving during the learning process, he may make a mistake which can be detrimental to his life. Also, teaching this skill at school is very costly as workers should be hired for emergency conditions, and new roads should be built for safety. It can cause a deficit in the school budget. Moreover, supervisors must be responsible for children’s safety while it is very hard to control the actions of each child.
In conclusion, although driving should be learnt by everyone to pace the speed of modern world, I disagree with the idea that it should be taught at schools because of emergency conditions and budget deficits.
