Nowadays, it is believed that courses related to management of finance should be introduced in every school and major focus should be given to enhance the financial skills of the students. I totally agree with this statement.
To begin with, there are various reasons to form this subject as part of children’s academic education. The prominent one is that, commercial knowledge helps students to enter the economic market of the world and understand its concepts. Moreover, it inculcates a habit of decision making in youngsters which automatically lead to their growth in the competitive future. For instance, a recent study in The Khalsa Aid Foundation shows that students who have studied financial accounting as their main subject are better in managing their accounts. Thus, it should be a compulsory component in every school program.
The second reason is that, students become responsible for managing their portfolio. This also enhance their power of making good and efficient decisions. In addition, they get to know the importance of earning and savings in life and maintaining a balance between them. Also, many students who want to pursue their career in commerce field such as Chartered Accountants, Traders, Financial advisors and many more will get a chance to understand this concept better. For example, a headline published by Cable News Network (CNN) in 2023 showed that at a seminar in India, many number of students showed their interest in the field of financing and understanding its concepts.
To sum it up, I believe that pecuniary topics should be launched at educational institutions to provide monetary awareness to undergraduates in order to enhance their financial management and improve investment skills. This would be a great step to help children to grow career in banking and other commercial sectors as it leads to formation of a new entrepreneur or a businessman.
