Band 6+: Face-to-face communication is better than other types of communications, such as letters, emails, or telephone calls.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In this day and age, people often prefer using verbal means of communication, such as through emails, letters, and telephone calls. However, a number of people believe that face-to-face talk is the better way to contact each other. From my perspective, I partially agree with this statement.

Firstly, face-to-face communication is a suitable method to express people’s feelings and gestures, which can improve the effectiveness of interaction. For instance, during meetings, people can convey their ideas and get them across better. Compared to online meetings, it is much more effective. Secondly, this way of communication helps people becoming closer. The reason is that they use non-verbal cues such as talking and body languages, so they understand each other easier.

On the other hand, using letters, emails, and phonecalls is also a convenient way to interact. It is clearly witnessed that in the COVID-19 pandemic, people cannot meet to have face-to-face communication. Therefore, those verbal methods were used to solve the problem. People made phonecalls, texting, sending emails and writing letters. It is unnecessary to go anywhere and make an appointment with anybody to have a face-to-face interaction. It saves time travelling.

To wrap up, while face-to-face communication has its own benefits, there is no significant difference from other types. Therefore, people need to consider the situations to decide which method should be used so as to make the communication highly efficient.
