People’s reluctancy to have a walk seems to be high presently. As there are certain causes of such a trend, some solutions are also available to urge people to walk more.
Among the underlying reasons why people are passive about walking, the convenience of technological advancements as well as the implications of social media might be two relevant ones. As having hi-tech gadgets, for example, robots with AI-based chips allowing them to function as humans or Google’s speaking assistance that manages the other devices in houses, is now a worldwide phenomenon with its detrimental impacts on society alongside the advantages, people have become unwilling to spend some of their time outside. Since such advanced devices facilitate people’s lives, they thwart people from going outside and having a walk. For instance, instead of going to a grocery store, people can easily tell what they want to Google’s speaking assistance, and their order will be delivered in a few minutes. Moreover, some contents on social media attract people who spend their time on them; therefore, they become much more reluctant about walking.
In order to raise people’s interest in walking, there are some viable solutions to be adopted. Introducing new applications in which people can be rewarded if they walk more in a day seems to be the best one. In addition, the government should take initiatives and impose strict controls on social media, which precludes people’s daily activities.
To sum up, people dislike walking for several reasons, and this problem of inactivity can be addressed with some measures suggested.
