Movies which are based on real stories need to be totally proper. To a certain extent, I admit that films that are based on actual stories should be correct. However, I also think that some historical lines in such movies can be altered.
On the one hand, I somehow agree that «based on real events» movies ought to be completely accurate. First of all, It would make it easier for people to learn episodes. For instance, students that need to learn about a topic or historical event can watch a movie version of it, that would help them in their research. In the second place, this can assist in the teaching process for professors and teachers. If an educator wants to give a speech about an incident that happened in the past, he can utilize completely accurate historical movie.
On the other hand, I mostly disagree about this take. Firstly, It is nearly impossible to recreate totally same picture. Some details that can completely change the angle of a view are cyphered or a well kept secret, which would make it unlikely to achieve perfect to restore in a cinematic picture. Secondly, people that play the main role in stories may not want to be shown like in reality. For example, Walt Disney was a cigarette addict, but he didn’t want kids to see him smoking. So, he edited all of his photos and Disney’s archive documents where it was mentioned that he was a smoker and also in majority of movies he is not captured smoking. Moreover, it may be altered to be more commercially successful. To be more economically prosperous movie shooting studios should add new storylines for it to appear more interesting than it is in reality.
In conclusion, proper capturing of an event can have benefits in educational fields. However, I mostly agree on cinematography based on historical events to have an altered storyline if main character doesn’t want to be shown as in reality or in terms of making it more successful.
